"The Best" Day 3 -Making Memories Animal Crackers

The first time I saw the Making Memories Animal Crackers Line I was in love. Every sheet of paper is adorable. I normally will buy two sheets of paper that I like, but I found myself buying three and four sheets of this stuff. It does not disappoint. The line also has tons of coordinating embellishments that are equally sweet and perfect with the papers.

Here are a few projects/layouts I made using the Animal Crackers Jack line, along with some thoughts of why this stuff rocks so much. (There's an Animal Crackers Ella (girl) line too, but I think most of the Jack line would totally work for a girl.)

You
I love the zig-zag edge on this paper and the versatility of distressed polka dots. This picture doesn't do the paper justice. Moreover, the accent letter paper is flocked velvet. It is amazing. Seriously, I have about 6 sheets of it. I just wanted to frame it - it is that fabulous.

Making Memories also offers these adorable mini spiral pads of journaling tags - they are so cute. The fiber accents are also Making Memories. I love the stars in particular. I could have used yards and yards of it.
Tiny Baby
The polka dots on the below paper have a pretty, clear spot varnish on some of them. It is subtle and very versatile.
Rest
This paper might be my favorite because it has star cut-outs peppered throughout the paper (you can kind of tell from this picture). I love it! I also put glossy accents on the chipboard alphabet stickers, which is why they are a bit shimmery. This is an easy technique that really makes a big difference. I think the glossy accents ties the letters to the epoxy accents beneath the picture.
My Favorite
I love that everything in the Animal Crackers line works SO well together. Check out how all these scraps came together to make this layout. So fun and so easy.
Mommy and me
Again, I used glossy accents on the chipboard letter stickers to make them pop off the page and look like the epoxy accents. I love this technique lately.
Shhh...
I made this little canvas sign to hang on Elias's door when he is sleeping. I filled the star cut-out with glossy accents and then sprinkled the adhesive with silver glitter. The Shhhh... was cut out using the Xyron PCS tool. (I think this sample is going to be on QVC at the end of the month when they feature the PCS!)
Scrapbook Kits
The Animals Crackers line also has scrapbook kits with a little bit of everything in them- paper, embellishments, a matching album, etc. Check out the cute cover.
You can find these products online and at a variety of big craft stores. I have also seen Animal Crackers at Target. I heart Target.

So, are you in love with this stuff, or what?! Well guess what, you can win a generous prize pack from Making Memories. Check it out.

Just leave a comment on today's post. I will draw next week Wednesday. Also, if you haven't done so:
  • Add the Best in Baby Scrapbooking button to your blog and leave a comment here for an extra entry. This will also enter you to win one of several exclusive prizes just for those who post the button.
  • Leave a comment on Monday's post to win a prize pack from Die Cuts With A View and Elle's Studio.
  • Leave a comment on Tuesday's post to win a prize pack from Aimee J.

I love it! I love the colors. They are my favorite, especially for a boy! So cute! Not only do I love looking at your blog for scrapbooking ideas. I found your blog through Angie's blog. I lost my son Kooper due to a cord accident at 38 weeks 2 days and he was born on July 11th. So I like to look at your cute little boy and I always picture what my Kooper would look like. I am expecting again and we are excited and hoping for a happy and healthy pregnancy:)

Keep up the cute scrapbooking I need all the help I can get!

Love this line!! It's soo cute for a little boy! I started scrapbooking when my daughter was born, but I've let it go. I have a boy due in March and I have all good intentions to work on both scrapbooks when he gets here. This blog is helping inspire me and I'm sure I'll use some of your examples to help me come up with new ideas!! Thanks!!!

Mama M said...

One word. FABULOUS! What great pages to help document the life of a special little boy! I'd love to have these for my little man! You're too much... but we love ya!

Ohhhhh, I have nev-er wanted to win something so badly!

I have been drooling over so much of the stuff you feature- I used to have a scrapping budget but I am dealing with a major illness and a 10% insurance deductible sounded awesome when we were signing up, but now that I actually have to pay ten percent of, like, a bazillion dollars...let's just say I'm not on a first name basis with every Michael's staffer any longer.

:(

I have adored watching Elias grow...one of my new favorite photos is the one of him in his fleece hat (you know, the one from Nana, I think?). He looks so much like Matthew there! Normally I tend to think he looks like you more, and when he smiles, it looks like he only rented Matthew's DNA and is ALL you! But not only did he resemble his dad in that photo, I think the main reason he did so was that Matthew likely would have made the *exact* same face if made to wear a big puffy yellow fleece hat!

Anyway, thanks so much for giving everyone a chance at these great giveaways! I am so glad Angie does good PR for you...I would have hated to never find your blog... :)
