A Giveaway

One of the perks of being married to an author is that we receive A LOT of books - and sometimes some to give away on our blogs.

I am excited that I have two copies of Six Prayers God Always Answers by Mark Herringshaw and Jennifer Schuchmann to give away.

Here's what the inside flap says:
Is it okay to pray for selfish things?

Does a desperate God help me! count as a real prayer?

Is a quickly tossed up prayer-thought as likely to be answered as a carefully articulated and well-thought-out prayer prayed on your knees before the sun rises?

We all have an impulse to pray, but sometimes when we don't get the answers we expect, we question whether we know how to pray the right way.

In Six Prayers God Always Answers, Mark Herringshaw and Jennifer Schuchmann point out that the most authentic prayers may not look, feel, or smell like the ones we were taught in Sunday school. Using illustrations from the Bible, history, and pop culture, they demonstrate that prayer isn't about a specific posture or a recitation of words, but rather the foundation of a relationshipa relationship where some unexpected results can occur.

If you're frustrated because it seems your prayers often go unanswered, Six Prayers won't show you how to pray better, but it will show you how to discover the answers you may have overlooked, and how relationship matters more than the words.

All you have to do is leave a comment telling me where you live. I will randomly select two winners on Friday night. Google analytics tells me that in an average week I get visits from every state and more than 30 countries - let's prove it true. :)

Can't wait for your comments! xoxo

Hey Jessica,

I live in Jackson Mississippi. I would really enjoy reading that book as I have recently started researching prayer and the right way to go about it. Elias is precious. Cherish your time home with him because it flies away so quickly.

Hi Jessica,
I've been following your blog for quite awhile now from Central Texas. (Hopped over from Angie's.) I try not to comment too often - makes me feel less like a crazy stalker - which I guess I am - but I'm a quiet stalker. :) Anyway, love checking in on you and sweet Elias. He is beautiful. My daughter says he looks just like my boys' and her baby pictures. He actually does, which is probably why I think he's beautiful - that and the fact that he really is. And by the way, I follow your husband's blog too. He is completely hysterical. Enjoy these moments with Elias. They go so fast.

I would love to get this book! I have recently started an email based prayer group with some girls that are spread around the country. I'd enjoy some insight on prayer as we continue our journey... maybe we could pass it around and recycle the freebie:)

Hi I'm from Clinton, IA and somehow stumbled across your blog. I find it very entertaining and inspiring. I have a 2.75 year old and another due early January. I would love to have a book for me to read that wasn't about pregnancy or child development. Thanks for the opportunity!

OK, the funny thing is, I wasn't going to post for this because I didn't want to seem greedy. However, after reading your reminder, I realize that it's OK to be greedy for how to better communicate with God! :) As a fairly new prayer warrior, this would be a great resource for me, I think.

The book sounds very interesting. My father-in-law was just diagnosed with Lymphoma, so the prayer thing is huge right now. I feel like I am praying selfishly, so it would be neat to read this book. Sonya W.
